Frequently Asked Questions About Doctor Anywhere's Telehealth Services


Through direct access to healthcare provided by telehealth services, we can maintain our health and well-being more easily. One benefit is that you won't have to spend a lot of time getting to the hospital or clinic and then waiting to see the doctor. Another is that telehealth allows you to see a doctor anytime you need, anywhere you are. This is especially useful if you’re feeling too sick to step out of your house.


With Doctor Anywhere, you can see a doctor anytime, anywhere using your mobile phone. We provide on-demand and by-appointment teleconsultation services with a wide range of general practitioners, specialists, and mental health experts.

How can the doctor diagnose me through a video consultation?

An experienced and qualified doctor can still diagnose common non-urgent illnesses online. This is usually done by assessing your medical history, symptoms you are currently experiencing, and your condition during the consultation.


If the doctor feels that your condition requires further investigation, they will advise you to go for a physical consultation within two minutes of your video consultation. When this happens, the doctor will end the consultation and you will not be charged.


What are the medical conditions suitable for a video consultation?

Many common illnesses and chronic conditions can be effectively treated through a video consultation.

Common Illnesses:

  • Fever

  • Cough, sore throat or laryngitis

  • Diarrhea

  • Vomiting

  • Flu or Cold

  • Sinusitis

  • Rash and skin conditions

  • Cold sores

  • Headache

  • Giddiness or Dizziness

  • Red eye

Chronic Conditions:

  • Diabetes

  • Hypertension

  • Hyperlipidemia

  • Other secondary diseases which may arise from the chronic disease conditions mentioned above (e.g. Ischemic Disease, Peripheral Artery Disease, etc.)

For conditions that are not on the list, the doctor will assess your medical history, current symptoms, and any other available documents to determine if your condition is suitable for a video consultation.


What kind of conditions are NOT suitable for video consultation?

The following symptoms are some of the conditions that are not suitable for online consultations:

  • Breathlessness

  • Acute or severe chest pain

  • Actively bleeding or deep wounds or lacerations

  • Psychosis or delusions

  • Suicidal thoughts

  • Persistent vomiting

  • Severe abdominal pain

  • Inability to control bowel movements or urination

  • Severe headache or giddiness

  • Sudden onset numbness, weakness or slurred speech

  • Fainting spells, presyncope, or syncope

  • Injuries with suspected fractures or dislocations presenting severe pain, open wounds, deformity, severe bruising or swelling, loss of sensation and limb weakness

  • Sudden loss of vision

This list is not exhaustive. We would like to explain that Doctor Anywhere's services only address non-serious healthcare issues and should not be used in the case of a healthcare emergency. In such cases, please go to the emergency department of the nearest hospital immediately.


What kind of device do I need to use the Doctor Anywhere (DA) app?

Our service is available through our app on Android or iOS-enabled mobile phones. Android users would need to have Android 5 or newer versions to install and use our app. IOS users would need to have iOS 9 or newer versions to install and use our app. The DA app is free to download on Google Play Store and App Store. Just search for “Doctor Anywhere”.


How do I create an account?

Creating an account is free. Download the DA app and choose to either log in through your Facebook account, or Google account, or by entering your details manually.


Is my personal data safe on the platform?

Yes, we take confidentiality very seriously. Our platform employs end-to-end encryption to keep your information secure. Our patients' data and medical records are compliant with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). These records are only accessible to healthcare providers directly involved in the patient's care, and to support internal processes.


How much is a video consultation?

A 15-minute General Practitioner and Specialist video consultation is fully covered for Maxicare with no LOA needed. Otherwise, a GP consultation costs ₱550, and a specialist consultation begins at ₱699. A 1-hour appointment with a psychologist is ₱1,499. Payment is made in the app using GCash, debit, or credit card.


Do you have consultation packages I may purchase to save more?

Yes! You could sign up for a DA Health Plan, which provides unlimited video consultations. The plan has a starting price of ₱999, and may be upgraded to DA Boost and DA Ultra to include Life Insurance and ER Coverage.


Do you accept HMO or health insurance?

We accept Maxicare, Cocolife Healthcare, HMI, Lacson & Lacson Insurance Brokers, and Cigna. Video consultations are fully covered, and you don’t need to ask for an LOA. Tap "Profile" > "Membership & Benefits" > "Link Membership" to link your account details. Watch our short video to learn how.


I need to ask something about my HMO or insurance benefits. Who should I contact?

Please contact your healthcare provider if you need help regarding accredited hospitals, clinics or facilities, and other concerns such as referrals for consultation with specialists and laboratory tests.


What do I need to prepare in advance before the start of the video consultation?

We will need to verify your name and identity at the start of the consultation. Please have your identification card or passport number ready for the verification process. No prescription, referral or medical certificate can be issued to anyone who is not using a real identity or assuming a false identity.


The following equipment may be useful to have with you during your appointment:

  • Thermometer to measure temperature

  • Pentorch or mobile phone with flashlight function to illuminate and provide better visualization of the body part during the examination

  • Blood pressure machine to check blood pressure and heart rate

  • Glucometer for diabetics to check capillary blood glucose level or hypocount

  • Weighing scale to check weight

  • Any other equipment that you feel would be helpful for the consultation


Do you issue medical certificates or fit-to-work?

Yes! You may request for a medical certificate during your online video consultation. Please be advised that the doctor’s decision based on their assessment and evaluation determines the granting of the medical certificate, and that clearances from specialists, SSS, and others are not covered.


Do the doctors prescribe medication?

Yes! Our doctors can prescribe a wide range of medications, which can be used to treat conditions such as infections, allergies, skin conditions, minor injuries, or travel-related ailments.


Can I obtain referral letters from your doctors?

Yes! Our doctors can issue referral letters (e.g. specialists, laboratory testing) in medically appropriate situations.


How can I access my medical documents on the app?

To access your medical history and documents such as prescriptions, medical certificates and referrals, just tap “History” and you will be directed to a page containing all your past medical records on the platform. You can filter it by document type, consultations, and purchases.


To view your documents, tap on the selected medical record to see more details, and scroll down to find your document. Tap “View” to see the document in-app, or tap “Email” so we can send it to your registered email.


What's the password for the prescription and other medical documents in the app?

The password is the ID number registered on your DA account. To retrieve your ID number, simply follow these steps:

1: Tap “Profile” > “My Info”

2: Select “About Me”, and copy your ID number. Be sure to include the special characters, if there are any.


I don't have a national ID or a passport. Are there any other IDs I could use?

You may input any valid government-issued ID in that field such as UMID, Employee’s ID, School ID, Driver’s License, PRC, Senior Citizen ID, Voter’s ID, TIN ID, Pag-IBIG Loyalty card, PWD ID, and others.


How can my dependents use your services?

Please create and use a separate account for your dependent, as the doctors will issue the e-medical documents (prescription, medical certificate, referrals, etc.) under the account holder's profile.


How can I register my child if they don't yet have a government ID?

In the absence of an ID, pediatric patients ages 0 to 18 may use their birth certificate and the "Registry number" as their ID number.


Who can I contact if I have technical issues, follow-ups and requests?

Your technical issues, follow-ups, and requests such as refunds, editing of personal information, correction or validation of the medical certificate and prescriptions, will be investigated and resolved by our official Email Care team. They’re not on Facebook Messenger, but you can email askus.php@doctoranywhere.com.
